More travel travails

I don't know if anyone's still bothering to check on this place. I've been overwhelmed with life. I've heard that happens sometimes.

Here's what I had to say back during the week of Jan 14 when I went to a training class for work. It would have been nice, if it had been the correct version of the software that I was being trained on, and if I had the background in the technology, but what the heck. I don't want to sound like a whiner. Everyone who knows me can stop laughing now!

---- start of retro-post ----

I'm in San Francisco (actually, Daly City, but let's not be fussy) all week for training. The weather is gorgeous. It's been in the upper 50s during the day and upper 40s at night. I regretted not renting a GPS unit, or bringing my own, as soon as I pulled out of the airport. Nothing like negotiating a strange city at night after a long flight.

I'm not cut out for business travel. This is my 2nd trip where I've forgotten my laptop power adapter! Luckily Dell is everywhere - I was able to borrow one from my instructor. Also, it's not just business. I forget my cell phone charger last time I was on a non-business trip. I've heard that being absent-minded is a sign of genius.

American Airlines is sure into sappy feel-good movies. On the way out they showed
The Jane Austen Book Club (a real snooze fest). On the way back they showed December Boys (at least I could stay awake for this one.) They also managed to squeeze in The Game Plan (I'm sorry they even had the time....).

I was going offer more meaningful, witty, engaging opinions on each those movies, but lack of sleep and hunger have overtaken zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Zoinks! I almost forgot - on the way back, I came closer to missing a flight than I have in years. I would have missed it if I hadn't had the nerve to ask to be let into the short line at security for those needing special assistance (and this after cutting into the long line!). I'm surprised they didn't reward me with a full interrogation and strip search! But maybe I'm just paranoid.
